Jessica Joslin I bio

Born 1991 in Olympia, Washington, Jessica studied Fine Art at Pacific Lutheran University, earning her BFA in 2013.During her time at PLU she studied abroad in Dubai, where she studied the art of storytelling.

" I have studied art most of my life, and have always been interested in all art forms. I believe art is one's expression and interpretation of the world around them. I am fascinated in communication, specifically nonverbal communication. In my recent work I have combined my interest in psychology with my art.  Focusing specifically on the idea of non-verbal communication, my pieces describe what actions and expressions can say when words fail to do so."

Jessica has shown in exhibitions at Pacific Lutheran University’s, University Gallery. In 2011, she showed in the Juried Exhibition displaying her replication of Michelangelo's Caravaggio. In 2013, she received an honorable mention in the Senior Exhibition for her series in What is Not Said; Shortly after her pieces from the same series were shown in the University Gallery Annex.
